Admission Counselor Jobs Vacancy in Oglethorpe University Atlanta Jobs Details:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Admission, admissions counselors are directly responsible for recruiting and enrolling prospective students through regional recruitment, on-campus programs and project work. Extensive travel, some evening/weekend work, and a valid driver's license and personal automobile are required.
- Manage all aspects of recruitment for an assigned geographic territory
o Strategically select, schedule, and participate in high school visits and college fairs
o Maintain sustained communication with all prospective students and families via phone, texting, emails, letters, and in-person interactions
o Answer all emails and return phone calls within 2 business days
o Intentionally develop relationships and maintain communication with high school counselor
o Assist with all on-campus events
- Host information sessions and conduct interviews
o Create a warm and inclusive atmosphere on campus visits
o Answer question thoughtfully and thoroughly for families
- Review and evaluate applicants for admission
- Represent Oglethorpe and the Office of Admission in a professional manner to all constituents
o Be professional, polite, engaged, and welcoming at all times
o Work on weekends and evenings as required for Admission events
- Seek and participate in professional development opportunities
Qualified applicant will possess a bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of admission experience. Needs to be customer service oriented, and aware of the needs and concerns of a small, private liberal arts college.
We seek energetic candidates with demonstrated initiative and creativity, the ability to work well independently and in a team. Position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyze data to inform decision-making, computer literacy, strong organizational and planning skills, and attention to detail.
Normal use of office equipment, sitting at a desk, walking or standing, occasional lifting (<25 lbs).
