We currently have positions available for Full Time Shifts. All shifts available – Evening, Nights, and weekends include pay differential. Del Amo Hospital is a 166-bed behavioral health facility that is located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.
Full Time and Part Time positions are benefited positions that include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, and AD&D insurance programs, as well as Flexible Spending Accounts, Retirement Savings and Stock programs. Benefits begin on the 31st day of employment.
The Psychiatric Assistant acts as a Mental Health Worker who provides basic nursing care to patients, aids with activities of daily living, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment, under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse and unit Program Specialist.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Orients patients to the unit;
Consistently provides supervision for assigned patients and ensures safety of patient at all times;
Completes rounds and documents findings accurately and timely;
Performs daily patient care tasks;
Participates in 1:1 interactions with patients;
Assists in providing intervention and/or management of inappropriate behavior;
Prioritizes interventions in rapidly changing patient situations;
Demonstrates skills in co-leading groups and activities. ::
High School Graduate or Equivalent required CPR Certification required Minimum two (2) years of education focused on nursing, psychology, social service, medicine or related field preferred Completion of EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training program or equivalent preferred Experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
