Development Assistant Jobs Vacancy in The Museum Modern Art New York Jobs Details:
Supports the assistant director of Institutional Giving, Foundation Relations, and development officer in raising vital funds for exhibitions, publications, film, education, and other Museum program areas. Assists in drafting, proofreading, and routing of proposals and reports for individual, foundation, and corporate donors and prospects, including detailed project narratives, budgets, and reports with visuals, as needed. Collects attendance data and information on the Museum’s activities from curatorial departments, Conservation, Finance, Accounting, International Programs, Library, and Archives. Conducts detailed financial analysis, reconciles project expenses and income against Museum general ledger, and tracks gifts, funds, and endowments. Conducts smooth written and verbal stewardship of donors and prospects, including phone and email inquiries, creating invitation lists, greeting donors, and organizing site visits. Performs general administrative duties, including prospect research, maintaining deadline calendar, processing gifts, preparing receipts and letters of acknowledgment, and maintaining current and accurate donor records in Museum databases. Provides assistance for special projects, as needed. Reports to Assistant Director of Institutional Giving, Foundation Relations.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and one to three years in grants fundraising. Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong analytical skills and experience with finance/budgeting. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently on multiple projects. Ability to meet deadlines. Database experience a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills, both in person and over the telephone.
