Building Technology Specialist Jobs Vacancy in Canby Canby Jobs Details:
Building Technology Specialists maintain and support school technology including staff and student computers and mobile devices, classroom peripherals, instructional software, and infrastructure systems including file storage, print services, and school websites. Building Technology Specialists provide training and instructional support for school and classroom instructional software, hardware, and peripheral equipment and serve as the immediate technical and technology-integration resource for school-based staff and students.
Provides in-person and remote support for school and classroom hardware and peripheral troubleshooting, setup, configuration, and maintenance.
Provides in-person and remote support for software troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance.
Assists teachers and school staff to implement teacher-planned and directed classroom, media center, and computer lab activities with students.
Responds to technical incidents, requests, and questions via an online helpdesk system.
Maintains school-level equipment and software inventory.
Assists district technology staff with communication, system maintenance, and other duties to keep existing building technology operate according to established standards.
Creates and maintain how-to documentation for all school-level staff and students.
Assists district technology staff in preparing, testing, and deploying software and hardware.
Works with district technology team when introducing new technology to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
Continuously acquires sufficient knowledge and skills in the use of district software and school-specific solutions in order to provide high-quality support.
Leads and/or assists with staff technology training at building and district level as needed; assists district and building trainers in staff development activities.
Participates in all district training provided as required to perform duties.
Performs other duties as required or directed by supervisor and/or Technology Manager.
High school diploma or equivalency is required.
Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, network fundamentals,
and Macintosh, Windows, Chrome OS, and mobile platforms.
Experience troubleshooting basic technology issues.
Rudimentary knowledge of Mac and PC OS deployment and update methodologies.
Knowledge of common work productivity applications including Microsoft Office and
Rudimentary knowledge of website design and maintenance.
Rudimentary knowledge of mobile device management systems including iOS app and
Rudimentary knowledge of classroom audio and projection systems.
Experience troubleshooting technical issues remotely.
Experience with the core components of the Google for Education Suite.
Rudimentary knowledge of modern computer browsers including Google Chrome and
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to train groups of users in the effective and efficient use of technology.
Ability to work independently to solve problems and schedule tasks in an environment of changing priorities and emergency situations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional relationships, and work in harmony with supervisors, staff, students, and the general public.
Desire to learn and keep pace with changing technologies.
Written and oral communication skills sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
Genuine awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the goals and purposes of public education.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Able to travel as required by job duties.
Successful completion of criminal history verification requirements.
Specific knowledge and experience maintaining instructional technology and software systems.
Experience working in a K-12 environment.
