Residential Officer Jobs Vacancy in Sixth Judicial District Department Correctional Services Cedar Rapids Jobs Details:
Position Title: Residential Officer - Full Time
Work Location: Lary A. Nelson Center 1001 29th Avenue Cedar Rapids, IA 52404
Shift: Variable Schedule, may include days, nights, evenings & weekends
Salary Range: $19.51 - $28.91 per hour
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: A direct service provider in a 24 hour community based corrections facility, which includes high contact interactions with residents which may be during emergent and demanding situations. Elicits and supports pro-social behaviors with the focus on programming to reduce recidivism and preparing residents for successful community reentry. The work requires the use of independent judgment, initiative, teamwork, communication, balanced approach of treatment and supervision, and developing quality relationships with clients.
NOTE: Bureau of Prisions must complete a criminal background check and approve hire.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A flexible work schedule (which may include early morning, evening and weekend hours) is required to meet the needs of the offender/agency.
Valid driver's license.
Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to certify.
Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) preferred.
