Assist with the coordination of programming for children and families at Trail Point Aquatics and Wellness. Supervise day-to-day operations of member child care services. Assist with student internships and work study placements.Essential Functions
Assist in the recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of staff.
Assist in quality programming for children and their families by the development and maintenance of policies and procedures that model current and best practices in the field. Maintain a safe, healthy and engaging environment for children. Support the continued development of staff through modeling, coaching, mentoring and supervision of practices. Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings to discuss program operations and gather input from staff on ideas for quality improvement.
Develop positive relationships with children and their families, staff, and the Trail Point Aquatics and Wellness community. Respond to any staff, member and community inquires and concerns in a timely manner. Serve as a member of the Trail Point Aquatics and Wellness leadership team and participate in special events promoting the facility and membership.
Assist in providing input and evaluation of Early Childhood Education or other DMACC students in a practicum setting. Assist in providing additional support and guided feedback to students.
Assist in development and maintenance of Youth and Family Department budget. Maintain inventory of program equipment and supplies to assist with establishment of replacement schedule.
Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related and 2 years of child care experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree).
One year of child care experience servicing children ages 0-8 and their families.
Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Current first aid and mandatory reporting training or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of current software applications.Desired Qualifications
